A 3D creative portfolio: a Windows-style desktop, a WebGL hero, and a small set of windows that hold the work.
Stack React · Three.js · TypeScript · Tailwind CSS
The brief was to make a portfolio that did not look like a portfolio. The answer was an operating system: a desktop, a login screen, a dock, and a handful of windows that hold the work.
The stage
The wallpaper is a WebGL scene — a slow, fluid form that reacts to the pointer without turning into a tech demo. The desktop chrome is deliberately familiar: a menu bar, a clock, icons that open real content. Familiarity gives the visitor permission to explore.
The windows are the actual site. Each one is a route with the same content as the linear portfolio, rendered in a draggable panel. Close it, open another, leave them where you found them. The novelty is the entrance, not the content.
The trade
A desktop is a wonderful first thirty seconds and a poor information architecture if it is the only way in. The project keeps a conventional path underneath: every window has a URL, the content is server-rendered, and the desktop can be skipped entirely. The fun is optional.
